Made with pre-fermented dough it contains all portions of the wheat berry: flour, fresh milled whole wheat, cracked wheat and wheat germ. Always a favorite and a great all around bread. It makes the best toast! <em>&#8211; $5\/loaf<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Sonnenblumenbrot &#8211;<\/strong> aka Sunflower Seed Bread; made with a pre-ferment that ferments a portion of the flour, water, salt and yeast overnight before mixing the final dough. with freshly milled rye, then loaded up with toasted sunflower seeds and some barley malt syrup for sweetness.. a typical German seed bread- <em>$5\/loaf<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>and pastry this week&#8230;<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Kouign Aman<\/strong> &#8220;with : Made &#8221; with a twist&#8221; from the same traditional laminated french pastry as croissants, with a levain for sourdough flavor and some pre-fermented dough for strength. Rolled out w\/ sugar, black sesame seeds,and ginger, cut into squares and baked in cupcake tins to caramelize sugar and butter for a delicious, crunchy, delightful pastry.\u00a0 &#8211; 2\/$5<\/p>\n<p><em>Island Bakery has developed a rotation cycle of several dozen breads and pastries. Each Sunday the Bakery emails the week\u2019s bread offering to the mailing list. The Bad Guys in the film were named after the <em>blue meanies<\/em> species of psychedelic psilocybin mushroom.<\/span> <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">(<a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/m2uTFF_3MaA\">film clip<\/a><\/span>).<span style=\"color: #000000;\"> In the past week the Republican Senate has approved most of Magaman&#8217;s\u00a0 breathtakingly unqualified Cabinet appointments; the richest man in the world has dismantled core elements of our national security data protection apparatus; and the new AG&#8217;s first order of business is to proclaim the beginning of an illegal purge against all federal employees whose duties during the Biden Administration happened to include work on the Jan 6 investigations.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">We have all seen the many interviews and hearings with these appointees, and seen that not a single one is qualified for their specific positions or a high-level security clearance.\u00a0 Meanwhile, <em>Teslaman<\/em> has already trashed much of our national security apparatus in a hubris-heavy unauthorized raid. Similarly, most of the Maga &#8216;lawmakers&#8217; (we use the term very loosely) turned two blind eyes to the irresponsible lunacy of the Project 2025 coup now in progress.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The only consistent philosophy behind the current coup is some shared <em>Anger of Unfulfilled Entitlement<\/em>. We see it in each of the Cabinet nominees and across a wide swath of Republicans in the House since about 2006.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">It is not lack of intelligence that disqualifies them; it is their complete lack of <em>Honor<\/em>. No rationalization they use to justify their current incarnation as deliberate traitors to their oaths absolves them from the damage they mean to inflict on their fellow citizens in particular and on a stable world order in general. It&#8217;s been only two weeks and already our allies are backing away from us.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">These conspirators will never be content just to get rich and powerful. Just as Musk never seems able to come to rest and savor his accomplishments, their common thread is an unconscious conviction that no matter much they own or control, they will never get the emotional nourishment they need. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The sad irony for them and for all of us is not that they don&#8217;t have enough already; it&#8217;s that early childhood experiences with parents convinced them they would never get the love they need. In Buddhism there is a mealtime ritual of setting aside seven grains of rice for the Hungry Ghosts, beings who are unable to take in nourishment no matter how much they eat.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">So&#8230;the Blue Meanies probably didn&#8217;t have any <em>conscious<\/em> reason to be mean.<em> N<\/em><em>o one<\/em> has a viable <em>reason<\/em> to to be mean. But when children despair their loneliness for long enough, the unconscious core belief behind\u00a0\u00a0 Red Meanie faces is a small child&#8217;s hidden expectation that <em>&#8220;I will never get the love I need.&#8221; <\/em>And even when they get it they can&#8217;t let it in.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">So we must of course have compassion for all these <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/upload.wikimedia.org\/wikipedia\/en\/thumb\/b\/bc\/BlueMeanies.jpg\/220px-BlueMeanies.jpg\">meanies<\/a>.<\/span> But that doesn&#8217;t mean we don&#8217;t have to stop them in their tracks.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><em>May all beings be free from suffering,<br \/>\nEnjoy the ease of well-being,<br \/>\nBe free from fear and violence,<br \/>\nBe stewards of all living things,<br \/>\nWith kindness, compassion, love,<br \/>\npatience, clarity, and wisdom&#8230;<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Wine Tasting Friday Feb 7 \u00a0 4-6 pm \u00a0 &#8230;.time to Reinvent Elephant Repellent &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; Friday Bread Pickup This Week Pain Meunier &#8211;also known as miller&#8217;s bread and was developed to honor the miller who mills the wheat.
