We have none of our traditional allies at our side except <em>Israel<\/em>, which under the guise of &#8220;defending its people,&#8221; continues to bomb Lebanon&#8217;s people and infrastructure mercilessly. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Those bombs, which deliver heartbreaking, widespread, and cruel destruction and death are justified <em>&#8220;because they could possibly hit some Hezbollah bad guys hiding there.&#8221;\u00a0<\/em><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\">At the same time Israel continues its genocidal decimation of now- homeless Palestinians in Gaza and within Israel.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Meanwhile our own United States continues to play a prominent role in Israel&#8217;s assertion of power by attacking Iran&#8217;s leadership, economic infrastructure, and trade with overwhelming force <em>(Iran&#8217;s GDP is about 2% of ours)<\/em>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Our destructive aggression against Iran marks the unveiling of Hawkish Christian Nationalism as the replacement for Constitutional government in our country. There will be no individual rights, no elections, no accountability, just the ongoing threat of brutality. In numerous<span class=\"font-semibold\" data-streamdown=\"strong\"> Islamic autocracies, like Iran, Brunei, Somalia, Pakistan, Yemen, Sudan, and the Maldives, politics and power would involve rigid application of Rules.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Well, as they say, <em>fook dat!\u00a0<\/em>Authoritarianism and religion are a toxic combination in any proportions. Every religion has its teachings, rules, and rationales, and practices. Across the thousands of years of human existence, humans have come up with countless beliefs about life, death, meaning, and purpose, and religions to go with them.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Beginning sometime in the 1st or 2nd century AD, numerous and diverse<\/span> <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Gnosticism\">Gnostic groups<\/a> <span style=\"color: #000000;\">generally emphasized personal spiritual knowledge<\/span> (<i><a title=\"Gnosis\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Gnosis\">gnosis<\/a><\/i>) <span style=\"color: #000000;\">above the authority, traditions, and<\/span> <a title=\"Proto-orthodox Christianity\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Proto-orthodox_Christianity\">proto-orthodox<\/a> <span style=\"color: #000000;\">teachings of organized religious institutions.<\/span> (<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Gnosticism#References\">https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Gnosticism<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The picture that emerges from the Gnostic writings and musings from the Apostles to more recent historians is that Gnosticism was not a <em>religion,\u00a0<\/em>but rather a reflective, meditative, inward-looking path to transcendence, which they believed\u00a0 <em>&#8220;represented the inner truth revealed by Jesus.\u201d<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p><a class=\"mw-redirect\" title=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Buddhologist\">Buddhologist<\/a> <a title=\"Edward Conze\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Edward_Conze\">Edward Conze<\/a> (1966)\u00a0 <span style=\"color: #000000;\">proposed that similarities existed between <b>Buddhism and Gnosticism<\/b>, a term deriving from the name<\/span> <a class=\"mw-redirect\" title=\"Gnostics\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Gnostics\">Gnostics<\/a>, <span style=\"color: #000000;\">which was given to a number of<\/span> <a class=\"mw-redirect\" title=\"Christian sect\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Christian_sect\">Christian sects<\/a>. <span style=\"color: #000000;\">To the extent that<\/span> <a class=\"mw-redirect\" title=\"Buddha\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Buddha\">Buddha<\/a><span style=\"color: #000000;\"> taught the existence of evil inclinations that remain unconquered, or that require special spiritual knowledge to conquer,<\/span> <a title=\"Buddhism\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Buddhism\">Buddhism<\/a> <span style=\"color: #000000;\">has also qualified as Gnostic.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">All of this points to the fundamental conclusion that religions are belief systems about existence itself.
